Rural women from the relatively isolated region of Kutch in western India have a tradition of vibrant hand embroidery.  Often embellished with mirrors, the handwork communicates not only a woman's artistic skills, but frequently her tribal affiliation as well.
This piece is from the Garasia Jat community, a farming and cattle herding tribe.  Their precise embroidery is made up of tiny counted cross stitches and usually incorporates minute mirrors.
