Vintage hand-made pre-worked green frog and dragonfly center work needlepoint canvas with petit point eyes and dragonfly.
This canvas size is approximately 17" square and the pre-worked area is approximately 8 1/2" wide by 7 1/2" high, suitable for pillows or framed pictures. The canvas is 100% cotton 10-count Penelope and the pre-work is 100% wool.
Pre-work (also called center-work) is when the main design is already stitched and the customer stitches the background in whatever color they want. The pre-work is usually regular gros point needlepoint (10-count stitching) and sometimes includes petit point (20-count stitching) for fine details.
Purchase is for the pre-worked canvas only. The yarn to complete the background is not included. We also sell a variety of yarns to complete this project and we can create a second eBay listing for the yarn. We have Paternayan, Brunswick, and Bucilla 3-strand Persian wool (stitch using either 2 or 3 strands, depending on intended use). We have DMC, Elsa Williams, and Nostra Zephyr (Dutch) tapestry wools. We have DMC Pearl Cotton #3, #5, and 6-strand cotton embroidery floss.
